Seven days of meetings, workshops, DJ sets, and installations alongside leading figures from the worlds of architecture, art, and fashion. door, the magazine from la Repubblica directed by Emanuele Farneti, shows up at 2025 Milan Design Week with “Opendoor”, its first major event dedicated to the outdoor.

In the venue of the Chiostri di San Barnaba, in the heart of Milan, from April 7 to 13, Opendoor host a unique exhibition space, enriched by a program of talks and interviews featuring some of the most important voices in design, alongside key figures from other creative fields—from art to fashion, writing to architecture. These “extraordinary conversations” offered audiences unexpected dialogues that reinterpret the theme of outdoor living through the lens of the body, leisure, silence, play, and taste—through the perspectives and stories of personalities such as Michele De Lucchi and Nico Vascellari, Fabio Novembre and Davide Oldani, Piero Lissoni and Antonio Marras, as well as Patricia Urquiola, Formafantasma, and Francesco Vezzoli.

At the heart of the event is an original work by internationally acclaimed artist and designer Agostino Iacurci, inspired by the Garden of Wonders. For Opendoor, he has envisioned a surreal, dreamlike garden where sculptures and furnishings bloom like flowers among plants and trees. A landscape that blurs the line between nature and artifice, this immersive garden—spanning nearly 1,000 square meters—will showcase the latest innovations in the outdoor world, from furniture and wellness to fashion, mobility, and food.
