At a time when noise and confusion caused by an excess of information are so pervasive and overwhelming, imagining a new magazine necessarily means defining a clear editorial vision and an open dialogue with the communities involved. On this occasion, the relaunch of Arkitime, curated by Luca Molinari Studio and supported by Knauf, is aimed at architects and design enthusiasts who look at the world of design culture with curiosity and critical interest.
The curatorial approach to this volume began with the idea of resisting easy consumption, offering readers a few, clear elements that define the identity of the editorial project. Each issue will focus on a specific Italian city and an architecture practice deeply connected to that city through its history and development.
The first stop of this new journey is Florence, with Archea Associati. Arkitime also presents a new graphic identity, designed by Bianca Fabbri and Simone Bastianelli, and each issue will feature a specially commissioned illustrated cover by a guest artist. This inaugural issue features a cover by Matteo Pericoli, who offers his “portrait of a city,” composed of elements from the past and present that intertwine in evocative and unexpected ways.
