AMA has transformed the streets and historic sites of Maddaloni into an open-air stage for nationally and internationally renowned artists, architects, photographers, and designers. The inaugural theme, “New Stories (for the Future),” invites the public to explore original visions for a world in transformation. Over 80 key figures—including artists, architects, and designers—are involved, with a packed program of exhibitions, installations, and performances. This innovative cultural format brings together some of the finest expressions of contemporary art and architecture, opening an unprecedented dialogue between the most significant experiences of our time and the millennia-old history of the Maddaloni area.
The AMA festival revives the city’s creative spirit, continuing the legacy of the International Biennial of Graphic Arts held in 1985 and 1988, dedicated to the memory of Franco Imposimato, who was killed in Maddaloni in a mafia ambush. “Art against all mafias” is the festival’s bold and tangible mission, nearly forty years later.
The project aims to promote culture as a tool for social, economic, and urban regeneration, establishing Maddaloni as a hub of artistic and architectural production.
