Storie Milanesi is a digital space to know and listen to the city of Milan through the stories and insights on thirteen artists, architects, designers, writers and collectors that lived and worked in Milan leaving a priceless heritage of knowledge now sheltered and promoted by their same atelier, museums and archives, virtually gathered for the first time ever in this original project, started by Rosanna Pavoni – Fondazione Adolfo Pini.
The web site – available on computers, smartphones and tablets – leads you through the streets of Milan out of the mainstream paths up to the threshold of the cultural institutions that preserve the work of these par excellence Milanese authors that have contributed to shape the city identity with their professionalism and talent. Stories, anecdotes, curiosities, historical and architectural insights intertwine in order to freely organize a reasoned itinerary to discover the capital city of Lombardy, starting from the protagonists, the city neighboorhoods or the historical periods. Different levels of interpretation thus curated by novelist and author Gianni Biondillo, history professor Chiara Continisio and viapiranesi for the architectural, urban and design focuses around these special citizens.
Original illustrations by Ilaria Cheloni and photos by Alessandro Giulio Midlarz side the rich city map that comes out of storiemilanesi. Pioneer in terms of artisanal growth, trade and no less importantly of social and even political transformations, Milan unveils through the stories of those illustrious and active people that have made the city we live today
