Since 2007 Luca Molinari is the scientific coordinator and curator of SpazioFMG per l’Architettura, Milan-based gallery devoted to promoting and showcasing architecture sponsored by Iris Ceramica and its sister company FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti, the world leaders in the production of glazed ceramic and glazed porcelain tiles for wall and floor coverings, for residential, retail and industrial projects.
Along the years Luca Molinari has been working alongside with Iris Ceramica and FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti to define the concept of an innovative and hybrid space, which could be at the same time a cultural venue for high-quality architectural exhibitions, workshops, lectures, round tables and an effective display for the latest products and technologies developed by Iris.
The one-of-a-kind location of the gallery, with its four large windows opening on the streets of Zona Tortona, the most vibrant of Milano’s Design Districts, enhances its connection with the public life of the city, clearly announcing its mission as a place for discussion, meeting and sharing.

On a yearly basis, Luca Molinari and his team set-up a tailored programme of events developed hand-in-hand with the client. The selection of invited architects and designers is curated by Studio Luca Molinari taking into account and boosting Iris guidelines in terms of the fields of interest, geographical areas and specific professional figures which can be more relevant both on a cultural basis and for the promotion and the development of the Group.
Over the years, many of the most renown names of today’s architecture, landscape design, product design and photography (such as David Chipperfield, Mario Botta, Michele de Lucchi and Pritzker-awarded Herzog & de Meuron) have been invited to exhibit their work at SpazioFMG per l’Architettura, alongside with many professionals from the most promising contemporary architectural milieus, such as China, Mexico and Qatar.
Besides fostering the Project culture, Iris has proved capable of growing and benefiting through this formidable platform of communication, dialogue and encounter with the world professionals of architecture (designers, developers, contractors, journalists and connoisseurs) that are the ultimate target and partners of its activities.
